What does a creative agency do?

A creative agency develops the idea and the craft that carry a brand: positioning expressed as identity, campaign concepts, design systems, and the assets that run across every channel. The difference between creative that works and creative that wins awards only is whether it was built with knowledge of the placements, formats and audience it will actually meet.

The problem

Beautiful work made in a vacuum

Creative developed without knowing the media plan gets made at the wrong aspect ratio, at the wrong length, with a message that needs six seconds of attention in a placement that will get two. The fix is not better designers. It is designers who were told what the work has to survive before they made it, which only happens when the creative and media conversations are the same conversation.

The approach

01

Strategy first, always

Positioning and audience come out of discovery before any design work starts. Craft applied to an unclear proposition just makes the confusion more attractive.

02

Design for the placement

We know the formats, dwell times and environments the work will run in because we are buying them. Assets are conceived for their context rather than cropped into it later.

03

Build a system, not a set of files

Identity, type, colour, art direction and templates are delivered as a system the brand team can actually run with after hand-off, with the organisation and documentation to use it without coming back to us for every asset.

04

Make some of it physical

Screens are not the only place a brand can be. Holographic activations and out of home put the work in front of people who are not scrolling, which is increasingly where the unclaimed attention is.

Before you ask

Fair questions.

  • Yes. Brand strategy development, logo and identity design, illustration and 3D design are all in-house, and identity work is delivered as a documented system rather than as a folder of files.

  • Holographic displays used as a brand activation in a physical space, typically retail, events or high foot-traffic environments. They earn attention because they are still unusual, and they work best when they are treated as part of a campaign rather than as a standalone stunt.

  • Yes. A great deal of our campaign and social design runs inside an existing brand system. Where the guidelines are getting in the way of the work performing, we will say so and show you the evidence rather than quietly break them.
